Curated Care

Hi, I’m
Amy Hoffmann

I am a nurse practitioner with a 20-year history of taking care of women, specializing in treating chronic musculoskeletal pain. I am a lover of movement, strength, and integrative health.

In 2019, I left the traditional healthcare world but have not lost my passion to educate and help others live a healthy fulfilled life. Summa is an evolving platform for me to share my expertise and experience with others. My current focus is sharing the amazing self-treatment system of Yamuna Body Rolling

 What is Summa

(so͝omə)

Summa is the totality, the epitome, the wholeness of something.  It is the sum total.  It is the answer to my equation.  My equation is ever-evolving but I am constantly searching for balance.  I want just enough stress to make me stronger but not burn me out.  I want both boundless energy, and deep rest.  I want a mind that can be sharp and active when I want it to be and empty and quiet when I need it to be.  I want a body that is strong but mobile, stable but fluid.  I want to share this search with you and help you explore finding a healthy balance.

What People Are Saying

“I wanted to dive right in as soon as I read about Yamuna body rolling. The workshop was a perfect opportunity to try out Amy's knowledge and teaching style. I am blown away by Amy's knowledge of the muscle groups and how the tiniest movements through rolling can make such an impact on making sore and stiff muscles that spend so much time in a car and at a desk much happier. I'm ready for more classes!”

“Amy is truly dedicated to the instruction of Yamuna Ball Rolling and her personality brings a gentle sense of calm mixed with a coach driven purpose and every move is done slow and steadily for a reason, which she explains the whole time.  I have thoroughly enjoyed every Yamuna class I have taken with Amy! ”

More about Amy

When I graduated with my Master’s degree in Nursing, I was fortunate to land in dynamic private practice treating women in chronic pain. It was challenging, the learning curve was steep, and emotionally it was hard to fail people. Within a few years, I found myself exploring outside of the traditional medical system, while continuing to work within it. I was trying to find things that could help my patients and help me personally become more resilient as a human being trying to help others. This led me to complete a 250-hour yoga teacher training and spend my free time traveling to go to the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Through my Yoga journey, I found Yamuna Body Rolling and initially trained to be an instructor in 2004. Though many life changes would pull me away from teaching body rolling and yoga, much of the insight and practices I learned in those busy years have stayed with me for the last 17 years. When I left my career in the spring of 2019, one of the first things I wanted to do was reconnect with Yamuna’s teachings and begin sharing this amazing practice. So this is where I begin again. But, I am forever a student. I am always seeking, always learning, integrating and passing it on. I hope to use this space to present what I find on all the new journeys I am beginning. I am still just exploring ways to help others, still exploring to live my own best life.
